On May 19th, 1923, twenty-nine men formed the first Delta Chi pledge class at the
University of Kansas. Since then, our members have focused on promoting friendship,
developing character, striving for academic success, and encouraging a life-long bond
among its members. Our house has had several renovations over the past 80
years. One of our renovations took place in 1991 when Forrest Hoglund, George
Tiller, and Ed Kangas started the Chapter II Challenge. Their contributions and commitment
inspired alumni to give, resulting in a successful renovation of the Chapter House.
Our living room is dedicated in their honor. Our chapter house went under another
renovation in 1999 when Rick Lucas '69 raised over three million dollars from alumni to
start the Chapter III project. The project included a brand new library, computer
lab, and over fifteen study rooms. |

| Our house currently
holds 72 members, which is our maximum capacity. Our main floor consists of a
hallway and staircase, living room, library, dining hall, and kitchen. Our second
and third floors consist of living and study rooms, as well as sleeping dorms. Our
basement includes a recreation room, computer lab, executive offices, and a washing/drying
machine room. Click here for photos

| Each semester, our
members average over 400 hours of community service. For the past eight years, we
have adopted two miles of K-10 highway, and we cleaned up this stretch of highway four
different times during our Fall semester of 2005. One of the most memorable events of the
semester was our mission trip to Pass Christian, Mississippi and New Orleans, where fifteen members helped the victims of
Hurricane Katrina. The trip lasted for four
days, and we departed at the beginning of our schools fall break. During the trip, we visited six different people
who needed help cleaning out their houses. We
hauled away debris, tore out carpet and drywall, moved furniture, and performed other
duties that homeowners needed. Our philanthropy has also been a successful
event in our chapter. Three years ago, we started the Kaw River Carnival with Kappa
Kappa Gamma Sorority. The men of the Delta Chi and women of Kappa Kappa Gamma
provide less fortunate children with entertainment, as well as prizes and educational
games to help them grow and excel. This semester, our philanthropy will take place
on April 19th to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence.

Our members' grade point average consistently ranks above the men's
fraternity average at the University of Kansas. In the Fall
2006 semester, our chapter was ranked 6th out of 23 fraternities.
Each year, members of our
alumni donate over $12,000 for awards and scholarships to our
members.

| Our executive board at
Delta Chi consists of seven positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, Seargent at Arms, and Alumni Relations. In
addition to this, we have two rush chairs, and over twenty different committee positions.
Our committe positions include jobs like Associate Member Trainer, House Manager,
Computer Manager, and Intramural Chair. Many of our positions are switched every
semester, giving every member in our chapter the chance to participate. Our members are also involved in a variety of
extra-curricular activities at the University of Kansas, and we encourage all incoming
members to get involved with campus activities and clubs. Some of these clubs
include Student Senate, IFC, Pre-Medicine, KU Media Relations, Fine Arts, Finance,
Marketing, Rock Climbing, Cycling, Waterskiing, and many others. |
